Js Web Solutions does not outsource their work outside of the USA, if we happen to use a third party we believe in being transparent and will talk to you if that need arises. As for now all our work is done and maintained in-house.

The Short answer is yes. We strive for excellence here at JS Web Solutions and we prefer if we have a contract agreement for all our projects.
The only time we may not offer a contract is if you have found us through a third party sourcing site; Codeable, UpWork. Or if it is a relatively small task and we are paid in advance.
We hold the discretion on who receives contracts.

JS Web Solutions prefers to purchase premium plugins, and products. We will roll any necessary licensing of products into your contract price.
If you are using a product that has a developer license we will give you the premium licensing of that product for 1 year; after that we will turn off your licensing if you are not on a maintenance contract. You will maintain any of the premium features we used but will not be able to make additions or changes without paying for your own license key.
If the product has a yearly cost associated with it, we will help you set it up and then it will be up to you to maintain it for the length that you have your website.

To keep us and you organized we stream all our projects through a project management system. We prefer to use Teamwork to manage all our projects and to keep organized.
We will send you an invite when we start on your project to give you access and to start communications in a streamlined manner.
The benefit of using teamwork is it cuts down on long email threads, you can easily message us, send us assets and see the progress of your project. You can even assign tasks to us that relate to your project.
Please Note: In our system you will only be able to see your project and none of our other clients. We do not share any information about our clients with other clients. This system is purely so you can see the milestones and have a place to communicate with us about your project.
billing
We accept all major credit cards, certified check, and check. If you pay for your project via mailed check, your project start may be delayed.
JS Web Solutions does offer payment by invoice. You can be billed on a project based on credit history, and the terms of the contract. Though for new clients we generally do not give billing terms for the first project and will require payment in advance with a signed contract.
If you have signed a contract with JS Web Solutions, a contract agreed deposit of the amount or estimate is required. We will not start the project until payment has been received and posted.
Generally all projects are billed and payable in 15 days of receipt as each milestone in your contract is reached and completed. The only exception is for the final launch invoice, that is due on receipt and must be paid with any other balances in full before we will launch the website.
If we are actively working on a project for you and you go past due on making your payment we hold the right to stop the project until payment is made. If your project is stopped for lack of payment then the estimated dates of completing the next milestones will be moved and you may not make your initial launch date.
We make every effort to keep your project on target, we keep all our clients organized in a project management system so the dates are very tight. If you happen to miss a payment and we halt the project you will have to be moved to the next available slot in our system.
JS Web Solutions tries to estimate out and provide clients with fixed cost contracts, that will spell out all the milestones and deliverables. But from time to time we have a project that has some unknowns.
If we are working with a client that does not have a fully scoped project and we have to estimate our hours and deliverables then we will provide an estimated cost contract. All that means is that we will bill you for the actual hours it took to complete the deliverables in the contract. Sometimes it goes under the hours and sometimes it goes over.
If you have a contract that has a general scope and general deliverables and it has been given to you as an estimate you are still responsible to pay for any hours that go over the initial contract.
Clients that generally received fixed cost contracts either have an ongoing contract with us and an agreement has been made in advance, is an agency that we have agreed on costs, or they have done their due diligence to go through the scoping and consulting process with JS Web Solutions so we know exactly what the deliverables are.
JS Web Solutions tries to plan and incorporate all stock images and icons into the price of your project. However we only purchase standard licensing (most clients only need a standard license. If you are using it over multiple websites or for print the licensing requirements may change) for all image assets. If your project falls outside of the scope of that license we will inform you of the cost and it will need to be paid in full before we purchase the upgraded licensing.
We do not control the licensing practices of the companies that offer stock imagery or icons. So we can not control the cost of enhanced or next level up licensing that goes beyond standard or a creative common license. If you are looking for freeware we are happy to do any necessary linking or other requirements on your website. We are not responsible for you removing links for freeware images or using an image outside of the scope of the license provided. We will do our due diligence to offer you and purchase the correct licensing to fit your project.
design
If you have chosen JS Web Solutions to do your web design, Congratulations!
To start the process we have some general steps.
Generally a design goes as follows:
- Meeting to discuss the flow and requirements
- Ask for any branding guides or other material needed to consider in the design
- Ask for you to complete our Design Questionnaire
- JS Web will do a keyword search and research your industry and competition to make sure that they include elements in your design that will have user engagement in mind.
- Depending on requirements and material presented will start with Wire-frames or a first version mock-up
- Will provide you a link custom personalized link to your mockup to review and/or a pdf.
- Begin the revision process
- Show you a final product for sign off
- then start the next steps in your project of development
It is highly recommended, but not required.
JS Web Solutions has taken time to curate and develop the questionnaire based on getting the big picture of client needs. It helps us try to get the initial designs closest to your needs and vision to make the revision process go smoother.

No. Js Web Solutions is a small company that keeps all their work in-house. The thing that sets our company apart from others is that both John and Serenity do development. John does all the back-end custom development and Serenity does all the front-end code of HTML, CSS code herself. So whatever design she works with on, she can also understands what it takes to get it coded responsively and correctly.
Our designer may talk to you about using a prototyping software to view your design.
What the prototyping software does is it takes an image and allows us to add some basic features; like click a link to another template in your design, do some basic slide effects, and even show you the generic function of a pop up!
However, it is an image and not a functioning coded website. So it is not responsive and it is not your finished product.
We use prototyping to help people visualize how their design of their website will flow from one landing page to the next. It also helps us plan on the needed development of the site.
Our designer creates all her prototype designs with her monitor and larger standard desktop monitors in mind. Generally it is done with large white-spacing on the side and the content contained between would have a span width of 1100px-1500px.
If you will be viewing your design from a smaller monitor, or laptop then results will vary when viewing the Mockup. In most cases a .pdf file will accompany the link to help make visualization and viewing easier.
This will not include showing the design in Tablet or smaller device; those devices translate into a mobile experience and those will only be done if those design sizes are included in your contract. Generally all prototype designs are made for desktop monitors unless otherwise stated in your contract. Your design will be a fully responsive design and generally a separate design is not needed for mobile experience.
When your design is complete our designer, Serenity, will email you the status of your project and will include a link that will have xd.adobe.com/ with a bunch of characters after, this link included in the email is not spam. This is your prototype/mockup link to view your project.
The link will be your permanent link during the design phase. If there are revision phases in your design you will still use the link you were provided to see those revisions. The link only becomes inactive once we are in the development phase of your site.
JS Web Solutions has a library of different price point assets that they have sourced over time. When we create a design we will use different icons and stock images for your project. If you don't like an image or icon you are free to give constructive feedback and we will try to source an image or icon that fits your ideals. If you already own assets the fit your new design we will reuse them.
If you are having professional images taken for employees or locations you can send them to use to be incorporated into the site. Just let us know in advance of your intentions it helps make the process smoother for both us and you.
If you opt to take pictures with your phone of places/things or a selfie the quality of the image on the web will vary if you want them used on your website.
development
JS Web Solutions is WordPress Genesis Framework company. While we do have experience with transferring platforms we prefer to develop on WordPress as it is our preferred CMS.
Js Web Solutions stands by the quality of work. Sometimes during staging a piece of code will work then during launch, problems happen. JS Web Solutions will make an changes to their code to make sure it is back up and running again.
IF you find, during your warranty period, that a piece of code we wrote for you is for some reason no longer working and you have not had the code edited by another developer or tried to tweak it yourself, JS Web Solutions will for free of charge make any corrections needed.
All work comes with a limited warranty that is in your contract with JS Web Solutions.
We keep a back up of all code snippets we write so we can quickly and easily repair any issues that may arise.
JS Web Solutions does not have any special powers to easily identify bugs or make changes, though at times our developer has been called a wizard.
We use browser developer tools, available to everyone, to identify and figure out the best course of action to fix or make a change before we ever commit the change.
Because we invest in premium software development tools, we easily know how to pull down your web assets and know the exact location needed to make changes so they can be done quickly and almost seamlessly.
Genesis Developer means we use WordPress Genesis Framework. It is a specialized WordPress framework that makes creating websites with a child theme easier for the client to navigate.
Genesis is engineered for efficiency when it comes to custom website development.
